The
two-day event in August is run over the bank holiday weekend, with the
entertainment starting on the Friday night and usually continuing through
to the Monday! We can promise well organised racing, first class fun and
club bar prices!
The
racing has similar classes to the Spring Series, with the restricted sail
class becoming more popular year on year. We will run 2 races on Saturday
and Sunday, with the starts not being too early.
Please,
for each of these events, note the new regulations for open events in
2005 agreed by the Strangford Lough Regatta Conference, especially the
cut-off dates for entries. Entries received after the closing date will
not be accepted. IRC certificates must accompany entry fee, if applicable.
Boats must fly their appropriate class flag, and class switching during
the event will not be allowed.
Our
annual regatta is held at the end of June, the first of the season on
the lough, and is a highlight of the year. Details in the Regatta Programme
available from all clubs. Visitors from outside Strangford Lough are very
welcome at our open events. If you plan to come to the Race Week in July
you will find out how much fun racing on the Lough is. Visitors' moorings
are available - just ask. Club racing for our cruisers is held from opening
day to closing day. There is a class to suit everyone. A starting gun
will always be fired for the two classes, PY and restricted sail. Times
are in the NoR on this site. All are welcome, and every boat in the club
has a PY handicap.
